Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg, South Africa

    22 April 2025

Arrive Johannesburg International Airport under your own arrangements (details to be advised).

You will be met off your flight by a representative of our local partners (just look for the representative as you enter the terminal building off the aircraft-chute or shuttle) who will assist you through immigration and customs, and to the nearby Intercontinental Hotel, where you will join the Winger Group.

    * Please note that while travelling with the Wingers (beginning with dinner on 23 April and ending with lunch on 5 May) all meals and gratuities are included. In Cape Town you will be free to dine at a restaurant of your choice - just save your receipts and you will be reimbursed for your meal as well as a customary 10% gratuity (alcoholic beverages are for your own account). On your last night in Cape Town a cocktail and dinner party has been arranged for you at the Cape Grace Hotel, which is fully inclusive.

    22-23 April 2025:

Spend one night at the Johannesburg International Airport Intercontinental Hotel in Classic Rooms.

The Intercontinental Hotel is a five star hotel conveniently situated just across the street from, and within easy walking distance of, Johannesburg International Airport’s terminal building.

Each room has an en suite bathroom, air conditioning, television, radio, coffee and tea making facilities, as well as a mini-bar and access to 24-hour room service. The hotel has a first class restaurant with an informal atmosphere, offering modern cuisine, from breakfast through to late night a la carte dining. The cocktail bar is an ideal meeting place for the international traveler. In room dining with an optional “flight friendly” menu is available. The hotel has its own health and fitness centre as well as indoor pool.

  2. Day 2: Flight to Livingstone & Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River

    23 April 2025

This morning you will be met in the hotel lobby and assisted through check-in and security, and to the boarding gate for your onward flight.

Check in for your Airlink flight 4Z482 to Livingstone, departing at 11:00am and arriving at 12:45pm.

You will be met and transferred by shared charter aircraft to Toka Leya Lodge.

This evening you will enjoy a sunset cruise, with cocktails, on the Zambezi River.

The Zambezi River is the 4th largest in Africa after the Nile, Zaire and Niger. Its source is in North Western Zambia, and the River flows approximately 1,750 miles to its mouth in Mozambique, where it delivers its water into the warm Indian Ocean. It is a wide, attractive River dotted with islands and sandbanks, and the stretch of River preceding the Falls is bordered on the Zimbabwean side by the Zambezi National Park.

Relax and enjoy the riverine vegetation as you glide along one of the most unspoiled major rivers in the world. The birdlife is excellent, and you will cruise past hippo and occasionally crocodile. In the drier months, wildlife such as elephant and many antelope species can be seen grazing on the River banks or swimming across to the smaller islands.

  3. Day 4: Victoria Falls Tour & Optional Rhino Tracking

    23-25 April 2025

Spend two nights at Toka Leya Camp in Tented Rooms, on a fully inclusive basis (Including accommodation, 3 meals daily, local non-premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, laundry, 2 activities per day including a river cruise, a game drive into the Park, a tour of the Zambian side of the Falls, a tour of Livingstone town and museum and a visit to a nearby village and local curio shops).

    * Please note that you will enjoy the services of a private vehicle and guide at Toka Leya.

Toka Leya Lodge is situated on the banks of the Zambezi River in the eastern sector of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, some 12km upstream from the Victoria Falls. The camp nestles between mature shade trees on the banks of the Zambezi, and has been sensitively designed with minimal impact on the riverine forest and wildlife movement patterns.

Accommodation consists of 12 safari-style tents, each en-suite and with a magnificent view of the Zambezi River. The camp's dining and bar area are under a canopy of jackalberry and waterberry trees overlooking the River, and there is a swimming pool.

Activities include a sunset cruit on the Zambezi River on your first afternoon, and tour of the Falls and rhino tracking excursion the next day.

At over a mile wide wide, Victoria Falls is the most expansive curtain of water in the world, dropping more than 300 feet into the sheer Zambezi Gorge. The Tonga and Makalolo peoples lived here for centuries before the Falls were 'discovered' by David Livingstone in 1855, who named them after his queen. Its local name is Mosi-OaTunya, "the Smoke that Thunders," reflecting the huge spiral of spray that can be seen from 20 miles away.

    24 April 2025

This morning you will enjoy a privately guided tour of the Victoria Falls.

The Victoria Falls is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world and is arguably the greatest waterfall in the world. David Livingstone was the first European to visit the Falls and named it after Queen Victoria, but the local name is perhaps more descriptive - Mosi oa Tunya (meaning “the Smoke that Thunders”).

The falls break the path of the languid Zambezi River, causing this tranquil expanse of water to erupt into a cauldron of spray and deafening noise, as the river plunges over a chasm over a mile wide and 350 feet deep. When in full flood (February to May), 130 million gallons of water tumble over the Falls every minute, then seethe through a series of narrow gorges for approximately 5 miles, offering some of the world’s most exciting white water rafting and excellent photographic opportunities.

The afternoon can be spent relaxing at camp or enjoying one of the many other activities on offer at Toka Leya, such as Rhino Tracking.

  4. Day 5: Transfer to Botswana’s Savuti Camp

    25 April 2025

This morning you will be collected and transferred by private vehicle to Livingstone Airport.

You will be met and transferred by shared charter aircraft to Kasane Airport.

From where you will be transferred by shared charter aircraft to Savuti Camp (roughly one hour).

  5. Day 6-7: Chitabe Lediba Camp

Spend three nights at Savuti Camp in Tented Rooms, on a fully inclusive basis (including accommodation, all meals, all activities, refreshments while on activity, all non-premium brand beverages, laundry, and the services of a professional guide).

    * Please note that you will enjoy the services of a private vehicle and guide at Savuti Camp.

Savuti Camp is located in the Linyanti Reserve, adjoining Botswana's Chobe National Park. The camp is located on the Savuti Channel, an ephemeral waterway that started flowing again in 2008 for the first time since 1980, providing a primary water source for wildlife in this otherwise highly arid region.

Savuti Camp is a small intimate camp providing accommodation in seven large walk-in tented rooms, with ceiling fans. Each room is raised off the ground on a polished wooden deck, affording wonderful private views over the Savuti Channel and surrounding grasslands. All are tastefully decorated using natural materials and neutral colors. There is a thatched dining area, bar and plunge pool, also raised wooden decks, overlooking the active water hole in front of the camp. Dinner is generally served outdoors, under the stars. Afterwards, guests retire fireside to soak up the atmosphere of safari life. The more adventurous can sleep out under the African sky on the camp's "star bed."

Activities include day and night game drives in open Landrovers, walks with an armed escort, and boating excursions on the Savuti Channel (water levels permitting). There are several hides on the concession, where guests can enjoy wildlife viewing away from a vehicle. Wildlife in the area includes all of Botswana's big game, and the Linyanti Concession is one of the best places in the country to view predators. From June through November, the Chobe/Linyanti ecosystem is also home to Africa's largest elephant population.

  6. Day 8: Transfer to Chitabe Lediba Camp

    28 April 2025

Today you will be collected and transferred by shared charter aircraft to Chitabe Lediba Camp (roughly 45 minutes).

  7. Day 9-10: Chitabe Lediba Camp

    28-1 May 2025

Spend three nights at Chitabe Lediba Camp in Tented Rooms, on a fully inclusive basis (including accommodation, all meals, all activities, refreshments while on activity, all non-premium brand beverages, laundry, and the services of a professional guide).

    * Please note that you will enjoy the services of a private vehicle and guide at Chitabe Camp.

Chitabe Lediba is a luxurious and intimate tented camp built on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta, on a private concession that is bordered on three sides by the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is surrounded by waterways and lagoons, which host a variety of wildlife.

Accommodation consists of five spacious walk-in tents, replete with ceiling fans, en suite facilities, indoor and outdoor showers. Common areas comprise a dining area, lounge, bar area and plunge pool, all with superb views overlooking the surrounding flood plains.

Activities consist of game walks, and day and night game drives in open Landrovers, accompanied by an experienced guide. There is a hide on the property where guests can enjoy wildlife viewing away from a vehicle. Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Reedbuck, Lechwe, Impala, Zebra and Hippo are among the major game attractions of the area. One of the main highlights is the prevalence of the very rare and endangered African painted dog in the area; guests on the Chitabe concession have more chance of seeing these beautiful animals than almost anywhere else in Africa.

  8. Day 11: Transfer to Cape Town, South Africa

    May 1 2025

Today you will be collected and transferred by shared charter aircraft to Maun Airport (roughly 30 minutes).

You will be met off your flight by a representative of our local partners who will assist you through customs, and to your waiting transfer driver.

Transfer by private vehicle to the Cape Grace Hotel.

Enjoy dinner at a restaurant of your choice, with transfers.

    1-5 May 2025

Spend four nights at the Cape Grace Hotel in Deluxe Mountain View Rooms (including full English breakfast; free Wifi; complimentary chauffeur service to anywhere within a 10km radius; fresh tea and coffee delivered with wake-up calls; complimentary port and sherry in the library between 6:00pm and 8:00pm).

The hotel’s architecture celebrates the myriad cultural influences upon Cape history. Décor is tastefully simple, with a strong emphasis on quality. All of the Grace’s 120 rooms feature large French doors, which open on to views of Table Mountain, the yacht marina or the working harbor. The hotel is situated three minutes from the city center, and is within easy reach of Cape Town's art galleries, museums, botanical gardens, wine farms and beaches. The Cape Grace well deserves its numerous accolades (which includes World’s Best Small Hotel).

    2 May 2025

This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a half-day private tour of the City of Cape Town and Table Mountain, including entrance fees.

Your guide will collect you at your hotel and take you to the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in South Africa, with its beautiful collection of old Cape paintings. Finally, you will make your way back to your hotel via the colorful and historic Bo-Kaap District.

Enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice followed by the afternoon at leisure.

Enjoy lunch at Two Oceans restaurant along the coast. You then proceed to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where your guide will drive off the main road to the untouched area of Olifants Bay. There is a herd of endemic Bontebok living on this side of the reserve and you may see them on the beach and in the surrounding “fynbos”, South Africa’s magnificent indigenous floral vegetation. Interesting bird species include the African Black Oystercatchers and Avocets as well as endemics such as the Cape Sugarbird and Protea Canary, as well as various Sunbirds.

From the south-western tip of the continent, you then proceed north to historic Simonstown, South African naval headquarters, and Boulders Beach, home of the only penguins found on the continent of Africa, the African jackass penguin.

Your return to Cape Town takes you along the False Bay coastline, by the seaside towns of Muizenberg St. James and the fishing village of Kalk Bay before returning to the Waterfront.

After the tour you will be returned to your hotel.
